The Runaway Pastor: How will it resolve?

In The Runaway Pastor, Pastor Trent runs from two promises. First, he runs from his marriage, and then from the church he pastored.

I have a question for those of you who have read the first seven chapters of The Runaway Pastor. Do you think Trent will return to one, both or neither of his promises? What do you want him to do? Be specific about your hopes.

I am sure about some things that will happen in this book or the sequel, but some things are still hanging. Let me know what you think...

I'll look forward to your feedback.

I think Trent will return to Natalie, and I think he will also go back to pastoring, but I think he will pastor a more non-traditional church in the future -- one which does not look at the numbers and the bottom line. I do hope that he returns to both Natalie and to pastoring. He is such a natural pastor/shepherd type.

By the way.... I read all seven chapters today, and I can't wait to see how it all turns out! Thanks!

I'd assumed that he would return to his marriage, but not to pastoring a traditional church. From the opening chapters, I assumed he'd end up working some "regular job" while also being the leader/facilitator/teacher/guru for his new small group of friends.... or some new small group of friends.

If he and Natalie don't end up together, I know I would be disappointed. And I *think* I would be disappointed if he doesn't end up returning to his calling to spiritual leadership, apart from the institutional stuff that was so draining for him.

i agree with Jamie that Trent's such a natural pastor / shepherd type that he simply won't be able to stay away from the ministry. but whether he'll return to being a PASTOR, now that's the question. i see him more in a role of a hospital chaplain (especially after the incident with Carman) or something, where he can do what he does best: loving people and sharing the message with them, but without the pressure that he has to "run a Church"...

whether he'd return to Natalie... one would certainly EXPECT that, but we all know that life sometimes is outside of expectations. wish there was more on Natalie and Trent's life before things got out of hand... if there really was love, they won't be able to stay apart forever, their ways will cross. if there was just a liking... i guess Kim and Trent will remain friends and although i don't know whether Nattie and Trent will be living together again, i have a feeling that they will both learn a lot from the experience (as well as the other characters in the story)
